Married to Elizabeth, Jim has one son, two daughters, plus seven grandchildren.
He started sailing at age 10 as forward hand on a VJ out of the Avalon Sailing Club (NSW) before moving onto inshore and ocean
Jim currently owns a Farr 37, affectionately called “Farr Lap”, with a major highlight being the 1990 Sydney-Hobart race in he won his class
A close friend of Bob Brenac, from school-days, Jim has made many deliveries, including the delivery of Sir James Hardy’s boat “Police Car” to Hawaii from Sydney.
Jim retired in 1995, after a 38-year sales and management career with AMP and since that time has travelled up to 4 months each year. A memorable journey being a climb to the advance base camp of Mt Everest.
By participating in this medical sailing ministry I am able to assist in giving something back to those who are in need.
