PS  As you plan your giving for 2021, you might also consider making a tax deductible donation to MSM Inc.   We can assure you that virtually every dollar you give translates into practical assistance on the ground in Vanuatu, focused on building a positive and sustainable, “generational-shift” in oral health habits and outcomes, to combat the increasing burden of tooth decay and gum disease, thereby improving health for life.

70s music, nostagia & variety night

Greetings from Medical Sailing Ministries (MSM)

As planning begins in earnest on “MSM Vanuatu Mission 2017”, we are delighted to share information with you about the first fund-raising event in support of this remote-access medical transport & development group.

Following in the footsteps of last year’s two incredibly successful 60s Music Radio Variety Nights, we now present the …

“70s music, nostagia & variety night”

Saturday 8th October, 7:00pm,
North Ringwood Uniting Church,
Dickson Cres North Ringwood.

Here’s the first promotional video for your enjoyment …

The importance of private, direct fund-raising is more urgent now than ever before, particularly in  light of recent Federal Government cut-backs to foreign aid – including assistance to Vanuatu and other South Pacific nations. So we present this event as a fun way to both re-live the music and nostalgia of the 70s (or in the case of those under age 40, discover for the first time what made the 70s so … so, “Cool” and “Right On Man”) and at the same time support this much needed outreach to some of the most remote islands and village communities.

If you can get along on Saturday 8th October, we can guarantee a great, fun night !!

As many described last years 60s nights … it will be “Truly Unique” !!

Again, thanks so much for your interest, support and encouragement .

Blessings and cheers

November 2015 Vanuatu MSM Member Update

We hope you enjoy the latest Medical Sailing Ministries Update newsletter, featuring the start of the actual building of the freshwater and toilet project in the village of Paunangisu. These are exciting times in what is otherwise a rather quiet part of rural Vanuatu.

Also attached, again primarily for those in Melbourne, is an invitation to a re-run of the widely successful 60s Music Night, that was held back at the start of October.

Greetings from MSM

We hope you enjoy the latest Medical Sailing Ministries Update newsletter, featuring the start of the actual building of the freshwater and toilet project in the village of Paunangisu. These are exciting times in what is otherwise a rather quiet part of rural Vanuatu.

Also attached, again primarily for those in Melbourne, is an invitation to a re-run of the widely successful 60s Music Night, that was held back at the start of October.

The first event raise around $2,200, for solar power on the toilet, with over 120 people in attendance.

Given the enthusiastic response to the night and the fact that so many people either wanted to come (but couldn’t) or would like to have brought friends (but didn’t) it was decided to run the night again.

If you can get along on Friday 13th November, we can guarantee a good, fun night !!  For those who sent donations but couldn’t make it last time, the $15 entry-donation is waived if you can get along this time.

Again, thanks so much for your interest, support and encouragement .
Blessings and cheers

October MSM Update and 60’s Music Fundraiser

For those in Melbourne this week-end and looking for a fun gig on Saturday night (3/10) don’t forget the 60s Music Night, in support of solar power for the Vanuatu toilet’s lights and pump.

Greetings from MSM

We hope you enjoy the latest Medical Sailing Ministries Vanuatu Member Update newsletter, containing news (and photos) of the shipping container’s much-anticipated arrival in the village of Paunangisu.

The planned public toilet construction will mostly be done by locals in the village, but a work-party will head over to Vanuatu on 18 October, with an intensive timetable hopefully seeing the project completed in 1 month.   Maybe we’re just dream’n, but that’s the plan !!

In other news, despite the onset of a severe drought throughout much of Vanuatu, the vegetable seeds sent over soon after Cyclone Pam struck, have started to grow, with harvesting of a range of crops now well underway.

For those in Melbourne this week-end and looking for a fun gig on Saturday night (3/10) don’t forget the 60s Music Night, in support of solar power for the Vanuatu toilet’s lights and pump.

A flyer for the 60s Music Night has been attached and is also mentioned in the Member Update.  The night will involve a live DJ playing songs from the 60s, that will actually be performed by a live band on site and in attendance.  Smashing Baby !!  It’s a cafe-style, dress-up, nostalgia event that will also feature 60s adverts, TV shows and news video clips that’ll leave you wanting to watch Forrest Gump again.

Thanks again for your interest, support and encouragement and should you have any questions or comments, or wish to make a donation, please feel free to get back in touch.
Blessings and cheers

July 2015 Vanuatu MSM Member Update

Greetings from MSM

Nearly 4 months since Cyclone Pam struck Vanuatu and the task of rebuilding – homes, schools, churches, clinics, gardens and lives – continues.

We hope you enjoy the  2015 July Vanuatu MSM Member Update newsletter – full of exciting and worthwhile partnership activities, with the main one at the moment being the construction of a public toilet in the village of Paunangisu; to assist with the establishment of a range of future tourist-based business activities – oh, plus improved hygiene and sanitation in the region.

The acceleration of the above project has really only been made possible through the generous donations of so many in the wake of Cyclone Pam – so as they say in Vanuatu… Tank Yu Tumas !!

In the attached newsletter, please take special note of the call for donated tools – all sorts – and the container-departure deadline of early August.

Thank you again for your interest, support and encouragement and should you have any questions or comments, please feel free to get back in touch.

Blessings and cheers
