Lainie Verboon

Whilst I work as a Registered Nurse, my sailing career goes back many years including the 10 years I owned the 42 foot yacht “Clare”.  At the time of the purchase I was working as a remote area nurse in the Cocos (K) Islands.  I had many adventures aboard Clare, from Cocos to Thailand, then Melbourne, Bass Strait and up the east coast as far as Airlie beach.
Since 2005 I have sailed with friends on their yacht between Sydney and the Gold Coast, plus further sailing on Westernport and Port Phillip Bays.
In 2008 I commenced a business venture whereby I provide boat management and boat detailing to boats in marinas. In addition I work full-time as a RN in Frankston.  I have previous experience working in remote areas of Australia in Aboriginal communities; in many instances where there has been no doctor.
I see this as a great opportunity to volunteer my skills and experience and at the same time learning from others
