Grant Rees

I’m currently 18 and in the navy as part of the Gap year program.  The past few months I have spent at sea.
Through the navy I have done  a basic seamanship course covering rope work, cable work, anchor work and evolutions at sea, a basic first aid course, and a course in survival at sea.
Prior to joining the navy I worked in a camping store. When I was younger I did a sailing course with the Abbotsford yacht club in dinghies, but most of my sailing experience has been on 38-40ft yachts having been out with many different boats and crews, both racing and cruising. This mission sounds like a great way that I can use my skills to help other people while at the same time having an adventure in a beautiful part of the world
